Executive design
The project is part of a larger program of works to regulate water levels in the stretch of the Sele River between the confluence of the Calore River upstream of Ponte Barizzo and the river mouth. The project aims to “Safeguard” the Sele River through technical solutions for the adaptation of the river banks, taking into account the characteristics of the existing vegetation.
The project included excavation work to regulate runoff in the floodplain in order to reduce flood flow velocity, to connect hydraulic sections in a planoaltimetric manner, and to recover excavated material” for reconstruction of the of the project embankments, which is a significant economic benefit.
In addition, the following issues were resolved: modification and integration of the Consortium’s intake structure on the left bank of the Sele River to eliminate interference with flood flow; definition of access ramps to the to river floodplain areas and feeder channels; elimination of the interference between the project works and the existing municipal sewage treatment plant on the left bank of the river, as well as ancillary works (included within the economic limits of available funds).

The main objective of the project is to complete the sewerage system and connect domestic, agricultural and industrial users to this system.
Specifically, these are interventions on the discharge distributors and lift stations with associated hydraulic pressure operation, located downstream of the project lift stations.

Municipality of Capaccio Paestum: Project for the environmental rehabilitation and safety improvement of the rock face above the village of Capaccio at “Madonna del Granato”.
The measure aims to secure part of the rocky ridge above S.P. 13 a, which is the main artery for the direct connection from Capaccio to Madonna del Granato, where the sanctuary of the same name, a tourist site of high cultural interest, is located.
Selective and localized interventions such as rockfall barriers and the laying of a protective net are planned.
